Organised by The Regional PMTCT Training Centre at Mutengene of the Convention Baptist Health Convention Board of Cameroon And AWARE HIV/AIDS Mutengene, Cameroun. February 11 to 22, 2008

In collaboration with AWARE, the CBCHB has developed a ten day training course on Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV. The course trainer guide and slides were adapted from the WHO/CDC PMTCT training package, and the participant manual from the CBC PMTCT manual. While the course is adapted to the needs of a regional audience, it showcases unique aspects of the CBCHB PMTCT program, that have significantly enhanced the scale up and uptake of this program including an opt-out testing approach, engagement of trained birth attendants (TBAs), using Men As Partners (MAP) program to involve more men in PMTCT and peer psychosocial support groups. The target audience includes health care professionals and senior and mid-level health managers with and without prior experience in PMTCT implementation.
