The Service of the Infectious Diseases of the University of Dakar Teaching Hospital (SMIT) is a center of excellence for training of the health staff at the national and sub-regional level in care and treatment of people living with the HIV/AIDS. This service has been in care and treatment since the beginning of the HIV epidemic, and has developed theoretical and practical training tools for HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
