Launched in 1995, SIDA-3 is implementing a multi-country HIV/STI control program in West Africa. With extensive STI activities in nine countries of the sub-region, SIDA-3's affiliated partners are uniquely placed to serve as training sites for clinic-based care targeting sex workers. In particular, the two partners cited above have assisted in establishing nearly 30 sex worker-friendly clinics in Accra and Cotonou, providing anglophone and francophone LEARNING SITES for others in the sub-region. Building upon their decade of experience in the region, these universities will also establish and support a regional network of quality providers of STI care for sex workers, NPTSS. SIDA-3 has country offices in Guinea, Burkina, Niger, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, which can be mobilized to assist in these efforts. |
